Endometriosis disease is the presence of endometrium and stroma of endometrium outside the uterine cavity, spreading in other areas of the female body, usually in the pelvis.
Endometriosis can affect women from the first menstruation and, exceptionally, even before the first menstrual cycle, during childhood. Usually by the time of first period to menopause, even though after 40’s endometrial tissue seems to grow slower outside the uterine cavity.
